Tyre problems are one of the main causes of trailer breakdowns and accidents, but you can reduce the risk by monitoring your tyres with a TyrePal.

Don't risk this!
The TyrePal system use wireless sensors on the valve caps to monitor the pressure and temperature of the tyres and gives an alert for any abnormality. The temperature sensor is sufficiently sensitive to give advance warning before a blowout or an alert if a wheel is overheating from binding breaks or bearings.
Even if tyres are checked before every journey, there’s no way of knowing what happens to pressures while driving. A puncture could go undetected for miles, and frequent fuel stops might be the only indication of soft tyres until overheating causes a blow-out.
If you tow regularly or are planning a long journey with your trailer, the system could prove a life-saver.
TA22 series

TA22
TA22 is an extremely versatile system that will quickly give visual and audible warnings when things are going wrong. Ideal for caravans, horse boxes, boat trailers and equipment trailers.
Available in 2- 4- or 6-wheel base configurations, it’s easy to expand by simply adding more sensors – up to 22 wheels, and a booster is available to extend transmission range where necessary. Clearly displays one pressure at a time and can scroll through all pressures and temperatures at the touch of a button.
Alert levels are automatically set from target tyre pressures you input for each individual wheel.

What is the maximum distance from the dashboard that the sensors may be before contact is lost. I’m thinking of a long whellbase van towing a 4 wheel 30ft boat trailer.
Would this require a relay?

The sensors have an ‘clear air’ transmission distance of up to 20 meters, but by the time various bits of vehicle have got in the way, this reduces somewhat and we generally recommend a maximum distance of about 7 metre before going to a relay system.
Your 30 ft trailer on a long wheelbase van will be somewhere around the limit for a system without the smart relay.
Our first recommendation would be to use our model TD2000/AX08 to monitor eight wheels. This is a relay system and with the relay located in the back of the tow vehicle, it would monitor all eight tyres while the trailer is connected. When the van is used without the trailer, it would just monitor the van.
If you only wanted to monitor the trailer tyres, you could try TD1000 or TD1200 (depending on trailer tyre pressures). When it is borderline like this, we are happy to supply a system on a trial basis. If necessary we would take it back and issue a full refund or a credit towards an upgraded system.
Is your TD4000 for motor cycles usable on a two wheel single axis caravan. The tow car has tyre pressure sensors already so more than two Tyrepal sensors such as with TD1000 is pointless. Is there another two wheel sensor that I’ve missed in your website?
The two-wheel motorcycle unit can be used for trailers, provided the pressure range up to 60psi (cold inflation pressure) is OK, but some users prefer to use a four-wheel system on a single axle caravan and use one of the ‘spare’ sensors for the spare tyre.
The new TA22 is much better for this application.
You can buy a two-wheel version, and when it’s set up, the display shows the the two trailer wheels very clearly.
