How it works
Valve-cap sensors continuously measure the pressure and temperature of the tyres and transmit the information wirelessly to a monitor where it is displayed and updated within seconds of any change.
What it tells you
The system continuously displays the pressure of all the tyres. Temperature can be displayed by pressing a button. Alerts sound if a pressure falls below a pre-set level or if a tyre temperature rises above a set level. A leak or puncture triggers a repeating alarm.
3-minute installation
Just screw the sensors onto the tyres in place of the existing valve caps and fit the anti-theft collars if required. Position the monitor in view of the driver and the job’s done.
Units and alert levels
Pressure can be displayed in psi, bar or Kpa. Temperature is in °C or °F. Alert thresholds for low pressure, high pressure and high temperature are adjustable from the default settings. A single setting applies to all four wheels. Maximum pressure is 60psi (cold inflation pressure), and accuracy is ± 1psi.
Power
The monitor is powered either by 2 x AAA cells or the vehicle 12V supply with the connector provided. Lithium batteries in the sensors last a year or more, and are replaceable. Advanced system design extends battery life by shutting the system down when not required and reactivating it when the vehicle is used. A warning is given when batteries need replacing.
Physical dimensions
The monitor is 91 x 75 x 22mm with a clear LCD display. The sensors are 20mm long x 20mm diameter and weigh just 11 grams. To prevent possible damage against the kerb, they should ideally fit without protruding beyond the profile of your tyres. In some cases it may be preferable to fit short-stem valves. There is usually no need to rebalance the wheels after fitting, as the weight is within the tolerance for most wheel-balancing
