Tyre pressure monitoring systems for all types of vehicle

How do the external sensors on the TyrePal system compare with sensors inside the tyre, typically fitted to new cars?

When fitting internal sensors, the tyres have to be removed. For existing vehicles, this takes longer and can increase the cost by 50% or more.

Most internal sensors have non-replaceable batteries, so once the battery is dead, the sensor has to be replaced. With TyrePal external sensors, the batteries are easily replaced and are readily available.

External sensors can be quickly switched between wheels. This is very useful for track use or for summer/winter tyres.

One fairly widely reported problem with internal sensors is that they are easily damaged by tyre fitting machinery. TyrePal external sensors are designed to withstand all kinds of adverse conditions and have been rigorously tested, including extended life salt spray corrosion testing.

In the event of a problem with an internal sensor, testing requires specialist equipment and the only way to get to the sensor is to remove the tyre. External sensors can be tested very easily by switching them between tyres, and can easily be replaced if necessary.

Do the external sensors require the wheel to be rebalanced?
